Last month, we were delighted to welcome members of the Flowers from the Farm network to our Findern branch. Flowers from the Farm is a UK-wide trade association dedicated to promoting a financially and environmentally sustainable local cut flower industry, a mission that strongly aligns with our own commitment to community and care.
The meeting brought together local growers and florists to discuss the business and mechanics of sustainable funeral flowers, as more members look to offer natural and eco-friendly arrangements to their customers.
Members explored how to create funeral flowers that are meaningful, beautiful, and entirely free of plastic or floral foam, reflecting a growing desire for environmentally conscious tributes.
Our Business Principal, Sue Barke, was on hand to answer questions and share insights into how florists and funeral directors can work together to ensure each arrangement honours loved ones in a thoughtful and sustainable way.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many finding the event informative, inspiring, and supportive of their efforts to work more sustainably.
At Murray’s, we exist to serve our community, not only through the services we provide but also by supporting education, collaboration, and environmental responsibility. We were truly honoured to take part in this important conversation and to contribute to the future of sustainable funeral flowers.
