To celebrate Father’s Day on 21 June 2026, Murray’s Funeral Directors in Barton-under-Needwood partnered with local pupils from Thomas Russell Infants’ School to create a heart-warming community display.
Reception class children were invited to paint pictures of their dads, which were proudly exhibited at the funeral home. The initiative, led by Funeral Director Samantha, aimed to strengthen community connections and engage with local families in a positive and meaningful way.
Alongside the artwork display, the branch hosted a cupcake giveaway, which proved to be a big hit with the children and their families.
The project helped build relationships across generations and played a role in breaking down common misconceptions about funeral homes. For the team, the highlight was seeing the children’s fantastic artwork and the smiles it brought to visitors.
This simple but effective activity demonstrated the value of community engagement and showcased Murray’s commitment to supporting local families beyond times of need.
